Epiroc wins a large order for mining trucks in Australia

Epiroc, a benchmark in productivity and sustainability for the mining and infrastructure industries, has secured a large order for underground mining trucks from Gold Fields.

Gold Fields, one of the world’s largest gold producers, has ordered a significant fleet of Minetruck MT65 trucks with automation features for use at the Granny Smith gold mine in Western Australia. The equipment order is valued at around MSEK 130 and was booked in the third quarter of 2022.

The Granny Smith mine also uses Epiroc’s Mobilaris Onboard solution, an advanced operator navigation system.

Epiroc manufactures the Minetruck MT65 in Örebro, Sweden. The mining trucks will come equipped with Epiroc’s Certiq telematics system, which enables intelligent monitoring of machine performance and productivity in real time, and will be fitted with Epiroc’s RCS platform control system, which prepares them for automation and the remote control. Delivery is expected to begin in early 2023.
